The Village

Whitson is a parish to the eastward of Goldcliff, in the lower division of Caldicot hundred, six miles south-east from Newport, and about five from Mager, Llanwern being the nearest railway station. It is in the Monmouth division of the county, petty sessional division, union and county court district of Newport, rural deanery of Netherwent, archdeaconry and diocese of Monmouth. On the south it is bounded by the Bristol channel; and, like Goldcliff, is protected therefrom by a sea wall.
