Parish Register for Llantilio Crosseny and Penhros 1577-1644

The MS. of which this is an exact transcript is in the Bodleian library at Oxford, marked - MS. Top. Monmouth, C.1
As appears by a note on the inside of the cover, it was sold by the late colonel Henry Morgan-Clifford to the Bodleian in the year 1881.
The MS. measures 12 5/8 inch by 8 3/8 inch, is in good preservation, and is bound in a leather binding on which the arms of colonel Morgan-Clifford impaling those of his wife.
There are also three other volumes, similarly bound, containing pedigrees by Hugh Thomas, These had formerly belonged to David Edwards of Rhyd-y-gors, whose widow Martha, daughter of Morgan Davies of Carmarthen, married, as his second wife, John Lewis of Llwynffortun and of Llantilio Crosseny, great-grandfather of colonel Morgan-Clifford, and in this way had come down to the colonel.
